Studio work April/May 2024

Concentrating on the horizon and the seemingly empty paddocks. They feel like a 'lament' for what has been lost. Lament was mentioned in the April crit, and I liked that word. It doesn't seem threatening or angry, but an acknowledgment of what was there.

These images are approximately A4, so I'd like to do some on 640gsm paper and A1 size.

I also did a brighter bush scene thinking of what was there before.

Could one work be one of each - a bush scene and then a farm scene?

Maybe 2 of these large works would be good for Land, Water and Sky exhibition in June at DEMO.

Could the farm scenes be more personal - painted from Dalgety farms, but also scenes personal to my childhood?
